Community Solutions
Peter Russell – Head of Community Solutions
Peter has worked for The Consortium since 1995. Having started as a support worker Peter has worked his way up through the company to his current role which is Head of Community Solutions. Community Solutions has been set up in response to interest about the work The Consortium has undertaken through its service development department. As Head of Community Solutions Peter is responsible for co-ordinating consultancy and project management for other agencies, developing training programmes and in particular expertise around assistive technology solutions. Peter has spoken at many national conferences about the work The Consortium has carried out for people with learning disabilities.
Peter also has a considerable knowledge of multimedia and how it can be used to support people with learning disabilities and runs IT workshops and awareness sessions. Peter is also the ‘unofficial’ photographer of The Consortium.
In addition to Community Solutions Peter oversees and line manages The Consortiums Service Development manager, Tenant Participation Officer and Assistive Technology Co-ordinator.

Andrea Kennedy – Swansea People's Support Officer
Andrea joined the Consortium as People’s Support Officer in 2006. Andrea previously worked as an assistive technology trainer and web accessibility consultant for the Shaw Trust but is now tasked with for bringing people together online in Swansea using the new ‘Swansea People Website that has been developed by the Swansea Provider Forum.
Phil Tanner – Assistive Technology Co-ordinator
Phil is well known to the majority of Consortium staff having worked for The Consortium since 1994. Phil previously worked within the administration team and in particular provided ICT expertise to The Psychology Support Team developing databases and graphs to produce detailed clinical information. Since 2006, Phil has changed his role to that of Assistive Technology Co-ordinator, an exciting new post to support the innovative work of The Consortium in its use of assistive technology for the people it supports.
Phil has responsibility for co-ordinating referrals, new assessments, installations, on-going maintenance and liaising with call centres. Phil is key in testing products and learning about new technologies and their use. Phil is also a competent trainer and often runs assistive technology demonstrations and workshops.
Given Phil’s ICT experience he also ‘unofficially’ supports our ICT department and staff in the use of the computers we have in all our services.
Donna Bevan – Telecare Support Co-ordinator
Donna has worked for the Consortium since April 2005 as a Support Worker. Donna previously worked for Family Housing as a Resettlement Assistant with the homeless and mental health team. Donna was seconded to Telecare Support Co-ordinator in June 2007 and her responsibilities are training staff on use and maintenance of the Intruder Package i.e. Lifelines.
